In April, we’ve had our well-attended online presentation “New IEEE 802.3cz Standard: multi-gigabit links for automotive”. Many thanks to all that attended the first webinar in our virtual space at Koonstel, organized in cooperation with Secpho. We’ve shown details of the new IEEE 802.3cz Standard and IC uses cases. Also, attendees learned about new fiber and connectors for these new applications. The new IEEE 802.3cz standard defining multi-gigabit optical Ethernet using graded-index glass optical fiber for automotive applications is in final review and we’re eagerly expecting the publication.
After a warm welcome by Secpho, our Marketing and Content Manager Miley Hernández gave a short overview of our company and the industry. Following, Luis Manuel Torres, Principal Engineer, introduced the strategies used in the IEEE 802.3 Standard and gave insight into how data rate and reach are increased. César Esteban, Applications and Support Manager, illustrated why the future of automotive Ethernet will be optical. He disclosed features, benefits, and use cases of our upcoming KD7251, which is currently under development. Plinio Pinzón, Optics and Photonics Engineer, rounded up our technical webinar with an insight into the optical automotive Ethernet Harness displaying connectors and light sources.
