Empowering Gigabit Connectivity: Introducing KD1053, seamlessly aligning with IEEE standards for automotive optical communication over POF.
The KD1053 implements the Physical-Coding Sublayer (PCS) and Physical Medium Attachment (PMA) sublayer of a 1000BASE-RHx PHY, compliant with the specifications of the IEEE Std 802.3bvTM-2017 standard for gigabit optical communications over plastic optical fiber (POF).
The KD1053 must be connected to a compatible Fiber Optics Transceiver (FOT), which implements a Physical Medium Dependent (PMD) sublayer and a Medium Dependent Interface (MDI), to form a complete automotive 1000BASE-RHC physical layer.
There is an evaluation kit available for purchase that enables full testing of the KD1053 capabilities in automotive and industrial environments.
The kit is self-contained and includes all necessary components to set up and test 100 and 1000 Mb/s links over POF.
It is based on KDPOF’s SFP-POF electronic board, which allows versatile, auto-grade Lab measurements at extreme operating temperature, radiation, and voltage corners.
The EVB1053AUT-TE-EMC evaluation board is available as a reference design for the KD1053.
It provides guidelines for design and evaluation capabilities for EMC in a flexible platform, enabling product designers to successfully shorten the time-to-market for KD1053-based end products.
